I visited the historic Ybor City, located in the northeast part of Downtown Tampa, via the TECO Streetcar, which I mentioned for the last two days. Before I feature the architecture of this historic landmark quarter, I wanted to talk about chickens.
Many chickens were running around Ybor, a first for me, as I had never remembered walking in a neighborhood with chickens. It was very curious and a throwback of sorts. Apparently, they are part of the area’s historic roots and are protected by the Tampa City ordinance.
I’m not generally interested in wildlife or animal photography, except for my dog. However, I made an exception for this chicken, as it seemed unusual. Additionally, I had the opportunity to experiment with the bird detection AI feature on the Sony A7C II. It worked well, allowing me to get sharp eyes at 70mm and f/2.8.
