Everyone at the casa we stayed at was warm and friendly. While I’m sure they were employees, they didn’t seem like the typical hotel staff. They were more personable, and we got to know them over our stay. Maybe that’s how it is at Airbnbs, but I can’t say, since I’ve never stayed at one.
Two of the folks were resting after dinner. Most of our party had retired to their rooms, and I made this candid portrait and shot some more from the rooftop terrace.
The lighting wasn’t particularly bright, though warm and mostly soft, as you saw from the previous posts. Bringing the 50mm f/1.4 was a good call, since it excels in low-light photography. The f/1.4 aperture also helps blur the background. At f/1.4, it gathers 4x as much light as a f/2.8 aperture. Instead of my ISO 1600, I would have to use 6400, which is doable but not preferred.
