Before posting about its artwork, I featured some of the Louvre’s extraordinary exterior architecture a week ago. But the interior architecture — as expected — is also sumptuous. I’m starting a short mini-series of scenes focusing more on interior design instead of the art on display.
I like how this hall integrates the artwork into the architecture, blending both together seamlessly. It’s not a minimalist white box with canvases.
Many interiors featured symmetrical designs repeated multiple times, forming mini-rooms, making the space seem even larger. Many people falsely believe removing columns and walls between rooms will make the interior appear bigger. Often, the opposite is true.
