Behind the Clock, Musée d’Orsay – Paris, France

I’m impressed by the giant, golden clock at the Musée d’Orsay, acting as a focal point as you look towards the entrance. The clock is mounted on an extensive metal and glass structure and beautifully blends into the architecture. Shadows of people, like moving silhouettes, behind the glass and the clock intrigued me.

I returned to the front on an upper level. I found the mysterious passage that cast those shadows — a metal and glass-covered bridge on multiple levels connected both sides of the museum, allowing visitors to cross over.

I used a slow shutter to add motion blur drama like I did in yesterday’s gallery picture. It’s always an effective technique to add visual interest and dynamism to photography. Luckily, image stabilization makes it easy at a 1/4-second shutter.
