Munch Blur, Musée d’Orsay – Paris, France

I have one more from Edvard Munch, more substantial — size-wise — than yesterday’s famous lithograph. This photo is also my fourth and last motion blur abstract at Musée d’Orsay, and it’s my favorite. Shot at the same half-second shutter speed.

I forget if this room was darker than the others, but I’ve decided to post-process it that way, adding more moodiness to a seemingly moody artist. The motion blurred people look like ghosts.

While the colors used in this painting seem more cheerful than The Scream, the scene is more gruesome with a naked woman standing next to the bloody corpse of a man. Titled “The Death of Marat,” Munch painted it in 1907.
