I noticed an unexpected companion at the Cafe d’Orsay, where we ate our first cafe meal in Paris. Sitting at empty seats were two giant teddy bears. As the cafe filled up, the waiters moved them to different tables. I asked the staff the reason for the bears, and they commented it was fun. It did add a friendly touch.
My wife and I sat at the first two seats under the awning next to the menu. It was quickly filled as I turned around to take these pictures. Once all the seats were filled, one of the teddy bears moved to the top of the menu.
I don’t know where the second companion bear went. It may make an entrance as the cafe opens up.
Beyond being cute, the neutral color harmonizes with the stone building. Given the design orientation I found in Paris, I’m sure that wasn’t by accident.
