We left the museum and walked towards our next tourist destination, crossing over the Seine River. Looking back, I saw a dramatic view of the Musée d’Orsay.
One of the benefits of taking so many pictures, like I do, is I can derive my walking path by triangulating with Google Maps. We were crossing the Passerelle Léopold-Sédar-Senghor when I took this picture.
The exterior facade clearly shows two stubby towers that face the river — notice the identical-looking circular clocks near the top? Those correspond to the two clocks I featured from the inside in my previous blog posts. One was from the cafe, and the other was from a viewing area. And, while the building looks impressive and ornate, there are so many buildings like this in Paris that it hardly stands out, believe it or not.
