I have one more street photograph from the Passerelle Léopold-Sédar-Senghor, a pedestrian bridge crossing the Seine River in Paris. Unlike yesterday’s 120mm telephoto street photo, this one is a slightly more reasonable 79mm equivalent. Though usually, I like to shoot much wider.
There’s no rule that street photographs need to be a particular focal length. Traditionally, they’ve been in the 28mm to 50mm range. I’ve recently tried my luck with 24mm. The wider the focal length, the closer you need to get, making it more challenging.
These tourists are traveling light, each with one carry-on, which is the preferred way to go in Europe, especially if you plan to ride trains. I was proud of my wife, who tends to overpack but managed this trip to Europe with a carry-on roller board. It did make train travel significantly more manageable.
