Dinner was going to be from the Galeries Lafayette Food Hall at Boulevard Haussmann. I shared a blue-hour beauty shot of the exterior yesterday. Today, here are some food booths that I found inside. There was a large selection on multiple floors — we were overwhelmed by the choice. Far from complete, I shot a few pictures as we explored our food options.
The design and style of this booth intrigued me.
This food hall reminded me of Japan’s high-end department stores, which feature similar concepts with a more extensive Asian food selection. I’m sure the Japanese stores borrowed the concept from Europe.
The cold cuts seemed unintimidating. However, the hanging hoofed meat was perhaps too exotic for me. After all, I have pretty pedestrian American sensibilities. I’m not even sure what animal this is from.
It’s not unexpected to find a Champagne shop here in Paris. They looked expensive, though I didn’t compare pricing.
I featured a rather unique McDonald’s from the Champs-Élysées with macarons. They tasted great, especially compared to the ones in Austin. These macarons were clearly better. After a week in Paris and sampling different ones, we noticed subtle and not-so-subtle differences from various shops.
We decided to get take-out Chinese Food for dinner and selected a good assortment. They tasted great, with a level of sophistication above your typical American Chinese establishment.
Finally, I noticed this cookie store as we were leaving. I didn’t buy anything but found it interesting they were featuring American cookies in Paris. Maybe I should have tried some to compare what a Paris American cookie tastes like.

Gourmet food to go at a scale that I’ve not seen anywhere in New Jersey. C’est incroyable!
Yup, very tasty.
