Here’s another eating establishment just north of the Gare de Lyon, one of the main train stations in Paris and close to our hotel. I found their website, and they bill themselves as a brasserie, which, while still casual, is more fancy than a cafe.

The black and white conversion transformed a dull image into one with sparkle and liveliness that looks incredibly enticing. Combined with perspective correction, the picture captures a vibrant nightlife in Paris.

With all the details, this photo must be seen large to be genuinely appreciated — one downside of these small web postings. However, you can click on the picture for a larger version. Up close, you see the diners in active conversation and the myriads of lights, which elevates this into a dramatic theatrical scene. I find the details especially compelling and enjoyed scrutinizing them.
