I’m sure the Romans never envisioned their architecture scaled to this level, complete with Corinthian Columns and the familiar triangular pediments on top. It’s a laughable combination that feels right at home in Las Vegas.
And I give them kudos for boldly implementing such a design. They’ve owned the design by adding complimentary cornices and columns to the sides of the building that give it consistency. It also has a good sense of proportion. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a ridiculous building, but they did put effort into it, and it doesn’t look cheap.
Like yesterday’s faux Eiffel Tower picture, I added some perspective correction to ease the lean, but not so much that it looks completely distorted. The image does adequately represent the massive scale of this building.
