After an hour at Guano Point, we headed to our second and last stop at Grand Canyon West. While the tour guide was sanguine about Guano Point, he downplayed our next stop, Eagle Point.
Since I was somewhat disappointed in my photographic achievements at the first location, I was less enthusiastic about stop two. However, I like it better. Later in the afternoon, the lighting had improved, and I preferred the composition with a superior sense of depth. The first ridge was well-lit and separated it from the distant canyon.
Why is it called Eagle Point? Look at the central rock formation in the middle of the frame. Does it resemble an Eagle with outstretched wings?
