It was a short ride from the train station to the hotel — Zermatt isn’t a very large place, but riding in little electric vehicles was fun. We checked in, got to our rooms, and were greeted by this view — very scenic but also troubling.
Frame by the mountains, behind those thick clouds is supposed to be the magnificent view of an iconic mountain. It’s the only reason my mom wanted to visit. We had paid a premium for a commanding view.
Mountain weather can be notoriously fickle and ever-changing. It was getting dark soon, and the mountain view would have to wait. We crossed our fingers for sunny weather the next day.
