The Mothership Lands at the Louvre

Fashion Week Stage, Louvre - Paris, France

Fashion Week Stage, Louvre – Paris, France

After quick observations and photography of stores during Blue Hour, we continued west on Rue de Rivoli. Just a few blocks, we reached the eastern edge of the giant Louvre Museum complex. As I covered in the first part of our Paris coverage, we already visited the museum. We went there to capture the exterior at night.

Inside one of the courtyards was this giant structure under construction and brilliantly lit. It looked like the mothership from Close Encounter of the Third Kind just landed at the Louvre.

I’m making an educated guess: it was a stage being set up for the Paris Fashion Week that was about to start when we were there. Of course, I had no connection to Fashion Week. While I would’ve loved to shoot that event, I was just a regular tourist visiting France.
