As we continued in the Montmartre neighborhood, heading towards our designated tourist site, we passed a local bakery. I met the baker through the kitchen window that faced the street and was located next to the store. I asked for a portrait.
The gentleman was more than happy to oblige. After the first conventional portrait, he hammed it up with the second pose.
We just had a brief interaction, but I enjoyed these connections. Street photography is great and often captures an unscripted scene. However, creating a street portrait adds another dimension to travel. The color wasn’t very exciting, so I opted for a black-and-white conversion for a more timeless look.
