I introduced the Sacre Coeur, a Catholic Church and minor basilica, in a black-and-white street photograph a week ago. After ascending Montmartre hill the easy way via a funicular, we made it to Paris’ second most popular tourist site.

We have two views of the church from a slightly different vantage point. The first picture looks a lot wider, but it’s nearly the same width as the second image (25.6mm equivalent vs. 27.6mm equivalent)

The first picture is definitely more dramatic, but I like the more balanced framing on the second. Little shifts in perspective can emphasize different aspects of the scene, like the people on the steps in the first photo.
