Yesterday, I featured a Death Star trench-like view of the tall hedges at the Palace of Versailles Gardens. It’s impressive but has an austere structural look that is distinctly non-garden-like. Today, we are still surrounded by tall hedges, but with a completely different feel.
The contrast from shadow to light and the glow around the wooden structure makes for an enticing image. Instead of being minimalist, it’s playful. Despite not having a traditional garden color, it’s inviting.
As I explored this portion of the gardens, I came across more than one of these designs. The main gardens are vast, and the view stretches for miles — it’s grand on an epic scale. However, I enjoyed this more intimate setting.
