Our timing was perfect as we crossed the bridge as the sun was dipping under the tree line. I love it when these things fall into place. I shot this from the same bridge as yesterday’s street photograph. Like in yesterday’s picture, while we have the Eiffel Tower in the background, the image is much more than that of the iconic tower.
Multiple things fell into place to make this a complete shot. We have the perfectly placed sun and the Eiffel Tower to balance it on the other side. The passing boat fills the river’s void with interest, while the parked boats on the bottom right add foreground interest.
While I can explain why I like the image, much of this was luck. However, I did explicitly set the aperture to f14 to create the dramatic sun star.
