Nothing smacks of a small regional airport more than a non-Jet Bridge deplaning. We’ve gotten spoiled by the fully covered, weather-proof, and easy-to-walk-through docking stations at major airports. However, it’s much more fun to take pictures from the tarmac, like I did here in Montrose, Colorado.
Montrose is a small city in Western Colorado with a population of 21,000. It was the closest major airport to our final destination, Telluride.
We were there in 2021 during the pandemic. As I recall, we visited between the waves of outbreaks in October. However, as you can see from the photo, everyone was wearing face masks for a visual reminder of the time.
