I’ve featured pictures I took as I hiked up the mountain. This was as high as I got. On one side is Mountain Village, where I started, and looking down the other way is Telluride. While I’m probably not in Mountain Village anymore, I’ve labeled it that way for convenience and because that’s where I started.

The mountain pictures look great from afar, but they look impressive up here. The Fujifilm 55-200mm telephoto zoom continued to work wonderfully for these scenes.

Mountain Village is at about 9,600 feet, and we probably hiked up another 1,000, so it was quite the challenge for my wife and me, who are distinctly sea-level people.
