I’m most familiar with the neighborhood around Lewers Street in Waikiki, where I often stay. Almost twenty years ago, Lewers Street was completely redeveloped as part of the Waikiki Beachwalk project, upgrading the area into a more upscale destination.
With fisheye in hand, I’m making compositions that I usually don’t explore. I look up and celebrate the distortion created by the tall trees among man-made structures.
There are many lovely trees in Hawaii, but the palm is my favorite because it signifies a vacation destination in my mind. I’ll feature other trees via fisheye in this mini-series of tree canopies.
