We are back in Waikiki in one of its many shopping malls. The Royal Hawaiian Center is a large and upscale mall on Kalakaua Avenue. Like a traditional mall, it has a food court, except because of Hawaii’s pleasant weather, it’s open-air.

Using the TTartisan fisheye on the Fujifilm GFX 50S II, I shot from the center of the food court’s balcony. The food court wraps on the left, right, and out towards the atrium. The stores are on the other side, but they appear farther away because of the wide-angle distortion.

The fisheye-distorted architecture frames the atrium view with an angular perspective, appearing very different from what a person would typically see.
