Converging Blue Hour Palms – Honolulu, Hawaii

It took several attempts to properly frame this shot of the three main palms converging to the center. Getting the palms in the middle isn’t hard, but an equal amount of detail around the circumference proved challenging. What makes framing with the fisheye harder is that I crop in to remove the vignette in post-processing, so I don’t see an exact composition through the viewfinder.

I improved as I practiced, making sure to frame looser so the post-processing crop didn’t remove a wanted detail.

The photograph had all the elements I like, such as blue hour, architecture, and the added fisheye drama. I took this in front of International Market Place on the Kalakaua Avenue side, which appears to be the main entrance.
