Here’s another photograph from the Kaka’ako Farmers Market, Chas, and his spectacular photographs for sale. I had an opportunity to talk with him for about 15 minutes when I took this picture in 2022. Initially, business was slow but picked up considerably. Chas said I brought him luck because it was quiet all morning before I arrived.
Like many photographers, including myself, we don’t usually like to be the subject of portraits. However, Chas agreed to pose with his work and look out into the distance. A fisheye lens is decidedly an odd lens to use for portraits. Still, I thought it created a playful photo, especially with his colorful images.
I didn’t see Chas earlier in 2025, but I found his website. He indicated he now exhibits at a farmers market on the other side of the island. It’s good to know he is still in business.

Chas’s pictures remind me that I need to get out to Hawaii.
Yes, Chas has wonderful photographs and Hawaii is indeed beautiful. Thanks for your comment, Costas.
