Distorted Architecture, Salt at our Kaka’ako – Honolulu, Hawaii

I mentioned yesterday that the Treehouse camera store was located in an industrially styled shopping mall called Salt at our Kaka’ako. It seems like an odd name, but it was named after the area’s history of salt production.

The low-slung box on the right with the black windows is Treehouse. Metal catwalks designed in keeping with the industrial aesthetic connect the structures throughout the mall and serve as a distortable element in this fisheye picture.

The taller structure with the yellow staircase is the multi-story parking lot. The front side of the parking lot features a beautiful mural and I also have a blog post about the front entry. Those posts are from 2021, when I didn’t go wild with the fisheye.
