Continuing east from Ala Moana Center, I walked another mile to the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki. Hilton has had a long history at this location, and the size and number of hotels have increased considerably since its origin in 1955.
The village has lush plantings, as you can see, with beautiful trails, flowing streams, and towering hotels. Other resort amenities dot the property with multiple pools, restaurants, and shops. It’s a mini-city within Waikiki. The fisheye lens has created a swoopy path through the landscape.
It’s a beautiful resort, but we never stayed there, opting instead to be in the heart of Waikiki. The Hawaiian Village can get very crowded, with a Disney-esque density of people. However, this place might be the ticket for people who want a simple and enclosed area.
