A block south on Main Street from yesterday’s Citizens National Bank, we have this streetscape. Although the buildings lack any worthwhile ornamentation and probably no architectural merit, I love how they look. These are honest and straightforward buildings, not trying to impress. I love the way the taller Western Finance building is balanced by the glowing street lamp.

I also shot a very similar scene back in 2017, where I better caught the blue hour on Main Street, Taylor. I have the same Western Finance building, but in a tighter crop. When I created this 2022 version, I had forgotten that I had made a similar composition five years earlier.

There have been some subtle changes to the front facades over the past five years. The deteriorating white ornamentation at the top of Western Finance has been removed, and the other elements have been repaired. The store next door changed as well.
