I’m wrapping up the coverage of the Long Bar and the Raffles Hotel with a portrait. On my way out, I noticed two well-dressed staff members at the Long Bar and asked for a portrait. They were more than happy to oblige.
Even during the daytime, the bar wasn’t particularly bright, so I was happy with the way this came out. Luckily, I wasn’t there at night.
Given that the two were standing at the same distance away, I was comfortable using the largest aperture, f/2.8 in this case, with a 24mm lens to ensure sharp focus on both. That’s the advantage of a moderately wide lens. The depth of field is not as shallow, making it easier to shoot group portraits.
