Blue Hour at the Lantern

Blue Hour at the Lantern - Singapore

Blue Hour at the Lantern – Singapore

We headed back to the other side of the bay for dinner. I hit upon the idea of a rooftop bar that overlooked the bay and the impressive Marina Bay Sands. The Fullerton Bay Hotel came to mind. The place was called the Lantern, which sounded especially apropos given how it glowed at night.

We arrived just before peak blue hour, and I was able to take architectural photos at night, one of my favorite photographic subjects. The warm glow of man-made lighting always contrasts wonderfully against the peak electric blue skies.

I opted to keep the image dark and saturated with ample shadows for maximum moodiness. The architecture, leading lines, and abundant color all worked together to create the kind of image I love.
