We managed to secure an excellent table with a view of the Marina Bay Sands, the tri-tower giant hotel that I’ve discussed extensively over the last week. However, it was more complex than I had initially imagined.
Although I should have known, the Lantern is a popular spot that strategically overlooks the bay, and I hadn’t made any reservations. This visit was a spur-of-the-moment decision. Hotel guests did get preferential treatment, however, though we weren’t staying there. We were staying at the Fullerton Hotel, which is a sister property to the Fullerton Bay Hotel. That fact and showing our keycard unlocked the desired table.
You can see Marina Bay Sands from where we sat, as shown in this photo. The shopping mall at the base of that complex is decorated in red. I think it was part of the light show that accompanied their nightly entertainment.
