I was eating outside with the group at Retro Pizza when I noticed these three girls. Their colorful outfits stood out at least from the typical American perspective.

Combine the outfits and the pops of blue from the background architecture, and you have a scene that’s distinctly different from what we see in the United States. Welcome to Cuba. In the distance, out of focus, is the Plaza Vieja, with its own mix of colors.

I used the Sony A7C II with the 24-70 f2.8. Though the camera is small, the lens is substantial, and not what you would typically classify as a street photography setup. Still, in Cuba, I felt comfortable with this configuration. Shot wide open at f2.8 at 70mm, I was able to create respectable background separation.
