It was getting dark by the time we left El Floridita. We started heading back to the Casa via a different route, though we were in no big hurry. We continued to take in the city.

I’ve shown you some gritty buildings in my coverage of Cuba so far. And, there will be more. However, not everything is falling apart or utilitarian. I saw this small store that looked rather stylish for Cuba.

To be sure, it’s not like some fancy New York City luxury retailer. However, look at the window decorations, the mannequins, and the clothing on display, and you get a comforting sense of normality. Regardless of country, culture, or government, people are people. Given the choice, they like similar things around the world.
