The morning of day 2 in Havana, Cuba. We are back up on the rooftop terrace having breakfast. One of the best parts of the trip was meals with fellow travelers from the U.S., many of whom were photographers. I didn’t want to bore you with pictures of the breakfast; however, we had eggs made to order, cheeses, and fresh fruit. Nice and fresh like the dinner.
Admittedly, this isn’t a particularly great photo, but I include it as part of the narrative. I say this without any slam against anybody, just an observation. However, I find it interesting that professional photographers with very capable, expensive gear opt to use a smartphone to take pictures. I have resorted to using a smartphone as a camera when I hand it over to someone to take a snapshot of my family or me. I assume they won’t be able to handle my dedicated cameras. I rarely use a smartphone camera for regular photography. But that’s just me.
I made this picture over a year ago, and don’t remember the details. I’ll be charitable and say she’s perhaps taking a panorama, which is especially easy with smartphones. Or it could be a video. It wasn’t a FaceTime call since our cell and wifi coverage was rather dismal.
