You might have noticed that Kamy was wearing pointe shoes, the kind that ballerinas wear. This was not just for show. Kamy is a real ballerina and studied in Cuba. However, ballerinas don’t get paid very well, and she does some modeling on the side.
As you might expect, compared to a regular model, Kamy had a lot more balance and grace, and the ability to contort into positions you don’t usually see. I shot some of those positions showing her flexibility. However, it thought it most dramatic to have her en pointe, on the tips of her toes.
In the first picture, she is on the second floor, a room that I showed yesterday during the architecture coverage. However, earlier in the session, the restaurants were drying their tablecloths throughout the room. It was kind of abstract and interesting to have her “perform” between the hung white cloths.
In this second photo, Kamy actually twirled, a pirouette en pointe. I increased the shutter speed to 1/500s to stop the action.
This is the last of the model coverage on day 2; however, we did a lot more on that day. We had lunch at the restaurant and had the entire afternoon and into the night for activities.
