Rear of the Capitol – Havana, Cuba

In yesterday’s post, I featured the Chinatown Arch in Old Havana, an unexpected find. In the second picture, you can clearly see the Capitol to the left of the arch in the background. I mentioned that Chinatown was in the shadow of the Capitol.

A short walk and we were right there next to the Capitol grounds. I included some nature to contrast with the stately classic architecture. We weren’t sure if we were allowed to take pictures of the building. Each country has unique rules, and one participant’s comment made some of us cautious. I think the concern was unfounded. Either way, I made a quick, casual picture of the building, not to raise suspicions, just in case.

The building is so lovely, but the surrounding area is surprisingly rough. I’ll show you an example tomorrow.
