The group of photographers that I was walking around with visited a store, and we ran into Junior and Lea, who worked there. We all hit it off and became friends, spending time together. Over the several days we were in Cuba, we visited Junior and Lea a few times. I even bought some artwork from their store.
We learned more about life in Cuba and the challenges they face. Beyond medical supplies, they didn’t have items like balls, various kinds of balls. So while they have tennis courts, for example, they didn’t have any tennis balls.
Most of our group brought gifts plus necessities with us to help the Cuban people. While we shared many of those at the Casa, we got a bunch for Junior and Lea so they could share them with their friends and family.
