A Small Stage for a Big Show

Tropicana Stage - Havana, Cuba

Tropicana Stage – Havana, Cuba

I didn’t know it at the time, but the Tropicana has two stages, a large outdoor version and a more modest indoor stage. As I mentioned a couple of days ago, it was raining that night, so we ended up in the smaller indoor area.

Apparently, the large outdoor stage is the famous one that seats 900 to 1,000. The indoor stage is less than a third the size, seating about 250-300, and is used during inclement weather.

We went early to get a prime spot at the front, but they had changed how they allocated seating. I didn’t understand the details, but we ended up in a good location for the average viewer. Of course, as a photographer, I wanted a better place for making those perfect performance shots. I’ll show you performance photos in the next few posts.
