On the third day of model shooting, we visited a grand old theater for some architectural drama. Kamy, a trained ballerina, felt at home on the stage.
These portraits are perhaps the most dramatic ones I created during this Cuba trip. Kamy’s poses and stage presence, along with her stunning red dress and the ornate architecture, make for a visual feast.
I want to take credit for the entire concept and execution, but I can’t. The teacher had set up the lights and had everything ready to go as the other participants, and I shot frames.
I did do the post-processing, however, which made all the difference. And given the difference in color temperature between the strobes and the theater lights, there were considerable tweaks to make them look right. These pictures are great keepsakes from the trip that would be hard to replicate anywhere else.
