Olympus 40 – 150mm Micro 4/3 Lens
UPDATE: The price has now been changed. B&H might have made a pricing mistake, which they have now corrected. Looks like some people got a really fantastic deal.
UPDATE 2: Just found a black version of this lens at Adorama for $99. I’m sure it will go fast.
I just found this great deal and thought you might be interested.
B&H Photo in New York City has a brand new silver Olympus 40mm – 150mm lens for $100. This is a micro 4/3 compatible lens that should work on all Olympus and Panasonic micro 4/3 camera bodies. It is on sale for 4 days at 50% off. On or after February 16, the price goes up to $200.
I already own the older, less spiffy black version. I bought it just before my trip to Japan. I don’t use the lens too often since I tend to prefer wide-angle primes. However, if you like a good quality, compact and inexpensive telephoto zoom, this is hard to pass up. Here are some photos I took with the lens. The 40 – 150mm is equivalent to a 80mm – 300mm zoom on a full frame 35mm system.

I have this one also … and for the same reasons you don’t use it much, neither do I. But it’s a good lens and that’s a great price!
It certainly nice to have in certain cases. I need to go out again and play with it.
Thanks for the tip. I jumped on it right away.
Tom, glad you found the tip useful.
Thanks for the tip. Almost impossible to resist. Your earlier comparison of similar shots using this lens and the 14 mm Panasonic offers a lot of visual info on acuity and depth of focus. It’s at https://blog.atmtxphoto.com/2012/07/22/soco-neon-and-focal-length-experiments/
Mike, you have a good memory. Yes, I did compare this lens against the 14mm. I did notice a typo on the lens detail on that post, which I corrected. The lens is a 40-150 not a 4-150.
