I’m testing a new camera, guess what it is?

Olympus OM-D E-M1 with 12 – 40mm f2.8 lens

I just took delivery of a new camera today. It’s the brand new Olympus OM-D E-M1 that was announced last week. This is a pre production unit that I got on loan from Olympus for about a week. I’ll blog about the camera over the next couple of weeks.

Also included in the package was the new Olympus 14 – 40mm f2.8 Pro lens. My first impression? The body and lens make an impressive package. This is not your daddy’s micro 4/3 camera. Things seem familiar and different at the same time.

  1. Andy,

    I was waiting for this!

What I have read about this camera so far suggests that Olympus may just have turned out a very substantial camera.

You might find Thom Hogan’s recent article in which he backs into the subject interesting as well.

Previously there has been a good bit of discussion of Nikon still photographers using one of the Panasonic µ4/3rds bodies (I don’t recall which one at the moment) for video.

Anyway, I am looking forward to your report.

    BR,

    Rick
