Who would have predicted the rise of the selfie, let alone the ubiquity of portable, network-connected, picture-taking computers — 10 years ago. They have utterly changed the social landscape, especially in tourist rich places like this. The Graffiti Park, known as the HOPE Outdoor Gallery, also did not exist back then. It was created in 2009 when a defunct condo foundation was transformed into this vibrant public place of (selfie) expression.
The long zoom of the Panasonic ZS50 worked wonderfully capturing candids of this now familiar social ritual.
