My Apple Store collection is far from comprehensive, but I take a picture everywhere I find them. So far, I have Apple Store pictures from Singapore, Japan, The Netherlands, and multiple cities in the US. While most people might think the Apple Stores all look the same, there are differences. Though Apple does use similar repeating architectural elements.
This one is on the Third Street Promenade, which is an outdoor mall in the center of downtown Santa Monica. With all the name brands located along the street, it almost seems like an extension of Santa Monica Place that I talked about yesterday.
I used the Olympus wide-angle to get as much of the facade as possible. I opted for some pedestrian motion blur to add additional photographic interest. I like most Apple Store designs, but I dislike how the glass panel bisects the Apple Logo. It ruins the effect for me. I wonder if they ever consider one giant piece in the center, or maybe it wasn’t structurally possible?
