Modernist Pergola, Getty Center – Los Angeles, California

This is a peek at the exacting modernist architecture of The Getty Center. Often in any project, some areas are minimized to save money. The Getty looks like it had no limits to the budget, with everything built to the highest standards.

There is a repeating square theme which you can see in the stone flooring and the facade of the building. This element is found throughout.

The modernist pergola creates a leading line towards the north, in the opposite direction from downtown LA. Views surround the property on all sides. Everywhere you look, there is beauty, structure, and precision.
