Long rebuilt with a vibrant residential community and new office buildings nearby, the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero might arguably be the most significant. The footprints of the original twin towers have turned into a powerful symbol.

Twin fountains with giant double cascading waterfalls into a pool of dark water form a powerful and somber reminder of that tragic day. It’s not an uplifting place. But appropriately reverent.
