If you look past the touristy restaurants and bars on the San Antonio River Walk, there’s a lot to like. Architectural details and artwork, big and small, adorn this jewel of an urban oasis.
Notice the zen-like elements, the river rocks, and the off-centered stone framed by this curved tunnel. I needed to get past the striking red tile that covered the tunnel to appreciate the details. The monochrome conversion significantly calmed the scene.
I love capturing architectural details, especially if they are less seen. Over the last few years, I’ve become increasingly anal about precision framing. Ensuring primary elements are positioned effectively and perspective-corrected when possible. The sense of order and balance gives me photographic pleasure.
