After quickly surveying our hotel room and the view, we unpacked and headed out the door. Even though we landed a couple of hours prior, it was only late morning, and we had plenty of time for exploration. Our first stop was a high-rated bakery from a guidebook, a short walk away.
I traveled light with only one camera and one lens, a rarity for me, packed in a lightweight sling bag. On the way to the bakery, I took the opportunity for some Paris street photography and came upon this cafe scene — not very original. However, this wasn’t a typical Parisian Cafe but an outdoor seating area for a Poke Bowl restaurant. It’s noteworthy how this Hawaiian seafood dish has become popular enough to be served in Paris.
I used the Fujifilm 16-80mm travel-friendly zoom but shot this at 35.8mm, equivalent to 53.7mm in full frame. Is 50mm ideal for street photography? We’ll see based on my other images.
