Thanks to the Museum Pass we purchased, we got into Sainte-Chapelle without excessively waiting in line. My wife and I experienced a treasure trove of visual delights.
This ornate area is the lower level of the church, known as the Lower Chapel. Think of this as a visual appetizer to the extraordinary sight one floor above. What would’ve been the main course for most churches, this floor featured exhibits of statues, architecture, and two booths selling souvenirs on the left.
I pushed my in-lens image stabilization to its limits. While I usually shot as slow as 1/5 of a second with the Fujifilm 16-80mm f4, I successfully made this sharp image at 1/2 of a second. That allowed me to shoot at a low ISO 400, even with an f4 aperture.
