Day two in Paris, and we arrived at our first tourist destination after getting off at the Solferino Station of the Paris Metro. Before we left for France, the weather forecast indicated rain every day of our ten-day trip. We lucked out. We did run into some rain like we did here, but much less than expected.

Paris experts probably guessed where we were headed after getting off at Solferino — only a short walk to the Musée d’Orsay. During my Louvre coverage, I claimed I wasn’t much of an art museum fan. Yet, here we were. The second museum in two days. As it turned out, this was an entirely different kind of art museum, as we will see.

My sister, as well as some guidebooks, highly recommended this place. Since we had our two-day museum pass — and wanted to squeeze as much value — we decided to go. The lines were already extensive by 10 am. However, we found the museum pass line, significantly shortening our wait.
