Here’s one last post from this McDonald’s on Champs-Élysées mini-series. I didn’t eat any burgers, just the French Sweets, but I ventured past the McCafe at the front. All of the order entry appeared to be computerized with units similar to the ones I’ve seen in the U.S. It was convenient since I could change the language to English.
The interior seating looked more artistic than the average one I see in Texas. It was also packed, perhaps of its prime spot with tourists in this desirable shopping district. I rarely see anybody eating inside the closest McDonald’s at home. Nearly everyone uses the drive-thrus. You can’t drive up to this one. It’s all foot traffic.
I have no idea what the French think of this American convenience. Is it mainly there for tourists? Prices seem to be lower, and with fast service, there is a market differentiation over the corner cafe. However — no surprise — the neighborhood cafes offer such a civilized experience.
