I’ve teased my next vacation destination for the last two days, and here it is. You can tell by the slot machines in the airport it’s Las Vegas. It was a quick 1-hour 15-minute flight from Phoenix but almost four hours from Austin, factoring in the layover.

After meeting at our 40th high school reunion in New York City last year, we vowed to get together yearly. Our Las Vegas trip was our first post-reunion. With easy access throughout the country, it was an excellent first location.

I arrived earlier than most for the chance for some pre-meetup photography. My friends were flying in from The San Francisco Bay Area, Portland, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey. Seven middle-aged guys were ready to tear up Las Vegas — not really.
